Dr. Mike Nelson has an amazing life story! Born in Chicago, Illinois, he spent his early years in a rough area of the city. At age 10, his aunt took him in to live with her on her farm in Wisconsin and he was in heaven! He loved the outdoors and mostly being out of the constant crime environment of his former neighborhood.

About Mike: “After writing a fiction/crime novel trilogy under the pen name Michael Deeze, the retired Dr. Mike Nelson has turned to young adult fantasy as his writing career has continued. He is a natural storyteller, both in life and in print. A physician, veteran, son and father, he cleverly writes from experience, imagination and his heart.

Named one of the “25 Hottest Indie Authors of 2018” by Indie Authors Magazine, as his daughter Isabelle went through her senior year of college he joined with her to co-write, “Annie Abbott and the Druid Stones,” which was released in May 2022 and launched a new series.

Passionate about his writing, he moved right into “Annie Abbott and the Race to the Red Queen” with Isabelle for the next installment (Sep. 2023).

Previously, his adventures had been intertwined into the tales of the hapless Emmett Casey.
